No, you don’t. We recommend to bring some cash (US or Canadian Dollars or EUR) that you can exchange upon arrival. There are also atms available at the airport and the city. In some places you will also be able to pay your bills with card. Everything else we will arrange at the welcome meeting, where we will make sure you have everything you might need for your tour.
On our tours you don’t have only one tour leader, but two. We will take the hassle out of your holiday so you have time to enjoy every minute of it. We pick you up at the airport upon arrival and say ‘hasta luego’ just before you head back home. As there are always two leaders, we have the capacity to take our time for you personally, whenever you might need it.
If you are a solo traveler, you have the option to share with another traveler (same gender) and pay only the standard tour price.
You prefer your own room? You can book a single room for a supplement.
Our tours include an airport pick up upon arrival. At the end of the tour (or at your individual departure date) we are happy to help you with your transfer.
We believe everyone should have a good and smooth start into the day. That is why breakfast is included in all our tours. Most of the time it will be held at our accommodation, but sometimes we will take you to breakfast places that are especial nice or suit best into the day’s itinerary.
Lunch and Dinners are generally not included which gives you the opportunity to explore the delicious cuisine of our destinations according to your preferences. Meals and drinks are very affordable in Central America. Join our group dinners or venture on your own, we will be happy to point out great restaurant choices.
To celebrate a fantastic trip and new friendships, your tour includes a last dinner. Indulge one more time in tasteful yummy local dishes.
Even though the traditional cuisine includes a lot of meat variations and you might provide a certain degree of flexibility, the local food and flavors are amazing and there will be something for everyone. Central America also offers the freshest and most tasteful fruits and vegetables and especially the more frequently visited areas have understood the need of vegetarian options and you will find yummy dishes. Plus, with Sid being a vegetarian himself, you will always have a guide pointing out your best options and sharing his favorite meals.
All our tours are designed with the opportunity to extend your vacation. If you are interested in getting to know a place in more depth or would like to enjoy some of Mexico’s beaches, let us know and we are happy to point out your options.
The year 2020 had a deep impact in our lives and traveling changed from one day to another. We love to travel and we are confident that it is still possible by taking precautions. We want to share with you what we will do to ensure our trips are safe and enjoyable.
- We run trips with small groups, which facilitates social distancing when needed and more space while on private transport. During Covid-19 we have reduced our tour size to maximum 10 passengers per tour.
- The itinerary of our tours make possible to avoid crowded areas but also gives you time and opportunity to explore more at your own will. On the Monarch Butterfly Tour we visit the Reserves during weekdays to avoid the more crowded weekends.
- All our hotels follow a strict Covid-19 protocol. We personally visited each hotel in December 2020 to check how they handle the situation and confirm that they provide a high standard by following the regulations.
- We are traveling on a private van, which is going to be sanitized daily. We provide hand-sanitizer to use before entering and exiting the van. We encourage to use face masks throughout travel times and whenever possible. We recommend to bring your preferred mask and your pocket hand sanitizer, so you have it available at all times.
- The ferries on our Beach Escape tour have outdoor seatings available. We recommend to use the open air space, to stay safe and enjoy the stunning view over the Caribbean sea.
- People in Mexico are generally very aware of the Covid-19 situations and precautions they have to take. Therefore, you will see majority of people wearing masks on the streets. Covid-19 protocols are in place; hand sanitizer and an area to clean shoes are standard at shops, restaurants, museums and supermarkets. Often even your temperature will be taken by an infrared thermometer before entering.
- All our tours involve a lot of time in the outdoors, away from crowds. We know human interactions is one of the main things we look for when traveling, but if needed, there will be less interaction with other travelers and locals.
- If you need proof of a negative Covid-19 test (PCR or antigen test) before taking your flight back home, we will assist you with arranging an appointment and help you with the process, so you get the required documents for your flight. Depending on the tour the best places to get your Covid-19 tests are: Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Mexico City and Valle de Bravo.
- We are going to be a team and we will take care of each other and follow protocols so we all have a safe, fun and enjoyable experience in Mexico.
- If you have any further questions or concerns regarding our Covid-19 protocol, feel free to contact us any time. We are looking forward to talk to you in person and tell you directly about our procedures and experience of the tours during these special times.
Send us a message with the tour title, date, amount of people you want to book for and any questions or concerns you might have and we will come back to you asap with further information (flights, payment, current travel regulations, etc.)
